There is something so effortlessly romantic about an engagement session at Springhill College.. especially near the iconic Avenue of the Oaks. The towering oak trees, soft filtered light, and classic Southern charm made the perfect backdrop for this sweet couple’s engagement session.

From the very beginning, Claire and Brett were completely at ease. We talked, laughed, and it truly felt like photographing old friends. I often catch myself thinking, "HOW AM I SO LUCKY TO HAVE CLIENTS LIKE THIS?!" Not even kidding.

Claire's blue midi dress was absolute perfection for this setting. The soft color complemented the greenery without overpowering it, and the flow of the skirt added movement and romance to every pose, especially when he dipped her beneath the white archways on campus - SWOON! (I audibly gasped when I started snapping the photos at the arches)

Paired with neutral heels, the look felt elevated but still natural. Brett chose a light blue button down with navy pants and brown shoes: a classic, polished combination. The subtle coordination in their blues tied everything together without feeling overly “matchy.” It’s such a great example of how to coordinate classic colors while still keeping individuality.

We spent about 45 minutes together; it was just enough time to settle in, explore a couple of locations, and let their personalities shine. By the end, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like a relaxed afternoon walk under the oaks.

Claire and Brett will be getting married this July at Little Point Clear in Fairhope, AL, and if their engagement session is any hint of what’s to come, their wedding day will be full of joy, laughter, and timeless Southern elegance.

I truly cannot wait. 🤍
